The bodies of Sweety (23) of Hayat Nagar and Shivam (20) of Gautampur, Delhi were found late on Thursday in a room of AR Hotel located in Fatehullah Sarai on Sambhal-Hasanpur road in Sambhal Kotwali area. Prima facie, it appears that the girl died due to consumption of poisonous substance and Shivam committed suicide by hanging himself.
Hotel manager Amit said that the young man and the girl had taken the room on Thursday morning. Both had also submitted their IDs. Both had to vacate the room at 11.15 pm. The manager said that he had gone to ask both of them at around quarter to ten at night that by when they would vacate the room.
When the door did not open after ringing the bell and calling, he climbed the stairs and looked inside. The body of the girl was lying on the bed and the body of the boy was hanging from a noose. After this, he informed the police. The police have informed the families of both.
On receiving information about the incident, SP Kuldeep Singh Gunawat also reached the spot. Family members said that Sweety had left the house to go to the parlor on Thursday morning. When she did not return home till evening, they searched for her and also called her but could not get in touch. Family members said that the young man has relatives in their neighborhood. He used to come often but they had no information about his contact with Sweety.
The bodies of a young man and a woman were found in a hotel room. Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide. The cause of death will be clear from the postmortem report.
