Samsung Laptop: Along with smartphones, the laptop industry is also growing very fast in India. Especially after Covid-19, when many people started working from home and children started studying from home, the demand for laptops increased significantly, the effect of which is still visible. This is the reason that now South Korea’s leading tech company Samsung is also going to start manufacturing laptops in its factory located in India.
Samsung laptop plan
However, Samsung is not a very big brand in the Indian laptop market. Most of the users use laptops of companies like Hp, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, and Samsung is far behind all these companies, but now the company wants to establish its presence in the laptop market like smartphones. For this reason, T.M., Head and President of Samsung Mobile Experience. Roh has confirmed in an interview to Live Mint that Samsung will start manufacturing laptops in India from this year.
This senior Samsung official has praised the government’s initiative to set up a manufacturing plant in India. R. M Roh further said that Noida (Samsung’s factory located in Noida) is the second largest base of Samsung globally.
Actually, the Indian government had banned the import of laptops and tablets in August 2023. However, this notification was immediately withdrawn after widespread criticism. The aim of the ban on imports was to reduce India’s dependence on foreign countries, and only after this decision of the government, Samsung has decided to start laptop manufacturing in India.
Samsung’s future plan
Samsung aims to increase the number of Galaxy laptops by introducing various Galaxy AI features. The company has also predicted that high-end Galaxy smartphone users will switch to Galaxy laptops. The introduction of Galaxy AI and other features will help the brand overcome the increasing replacement cycle in the industry.
Samsung intends to bring Galaxy AI to more than 100 million users in 2024, which will significantly change the user experience. Samsung will manufacture laptops at its plant in Noida, India and according to an expectation, the company can produce around 60,000 to 70,000 laptops in India every year.
