Sandeshkhali Case Latest News: Union Minister of State Nisith Pramanik has attacked the West Bengal government and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the Sandeshkhali incident. He said, “Is Mamata unable to arrest Shahjahan Sheikh? If so, then they should take help from the central government, which is fully present to support the state.”
The BJP leader also said that the Center has the capability to arrest the absconding Trinamool Congress leader within an hour. He said, “I have said earlier also that if the Mamata Banerjee government is unable to arrest Shajahan Sheikh, then they should take help from the Central government. The Center is fully present to support the state. The force is fully prepared.” We have the capacity. I am always ready to support the state in this matter. Even today the fact-finding team was not allowed to enter and was directly arrested, but when a TMC leader went there (Sandeshkhali) If he wants, he is not stopped. Law and order means nothing to him. Everything is for the opposition.”
‘There is no comparison between PM Modi and TMC’
He further said that how can there be any comparison between PM Modi and TMC. On one side there is Modi ji who is trying to take India forward and on the other side there are aunts and nephews. Is there any competition for Modi in the entire country and the world? This is a matter to think about. The Prime Minister will come here and the entire people of Bengal are fully prepared to welcome him, they will welcome him with great enthusiasm.
Governor asked for report from DGP on the arrest
On the other hand, after the arrest of 6 members of an independent fact finding committee in the Sandeshkhali case, West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has sought an immediate report from the Director General of Police (DGP). While going to Sandeshkhali, the committee members who were arrested and detained by the police met the Governor and expressed their strong protest against the illegal arrest and intimidation. In fact, six members of an independent fact finding team going to Sandeshkhali were arrested on Sunday afternoon in Bhojerhat in South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. The team was led by Justice Narasimha Reddy, former Chief Justice of Patna High Court and had members Charu Bali Khanna, Bhavana Bajaj, OP Vyas, Rajpal Singh, Aparna Banerjee and Bandana Biswas.
Shahjahan Sheikh is absconding
Women protesters in Sandeshkhali are demanding justice against the alleged atrocities committed by TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh and his associates. A large number of women in Sandeshkhali had accused Shahjahan Sheikh and his supporters of forcefully grabbing land and sexually harassing them. Shahjahan Sheikh is still absconding.
