Sanjay Dutt, son of Bollywood veteran late actor Sunil Dutt and late actress Nargit Dutt, worked in many hit films but his life was full of ups and downs. In 1993, Sanjay Dutt was arrested under the provisions of the TADA Act. He was allegedly found with banned AK-56 assault rifles. The case dragged on and Dutt also had to spend time in jail.

After being acquitted of terrorism-related charges in 2007, he fought cancer
In 2007, Sanjay Dutt was acquitted of all terrorism-related charges. However, he was sentenced to six years of imprisonment for possessing illegal weapons. The actor spent time in Pune’s Yerwada jail from 2013-16. In 2020, when he was on his way to a comeback, Dutt was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. However, he underwent treatment in Mumbai and recovered.

While Sanjay Dutt was undergoing treatment for cancer, he signed his first Kannada film ‘KGF Chapter 2’. In this film, he played the role of villain Adheera. The actor shot the film while recovering from cancer, sometimes even performing dangerous stunts himself. The film released in theaters in 2022 and broke all box office records by earning Rs 1200 crore worldwide. He then played a cameo in ‘Jawaan’ in 2023 and another negative role in the Tamil film ‘Leo’. These three films together earned around Rs 3000 crore. Which made Dutt’s comeback spectacular.
