Veteran artists of the country and the world have been present on the stage of Sankatmochan Sangeet Samaroh. This is the first time in the 101st year that Mahant Prof. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra shared the stage with the Gundecha brothers. With this, he became the second Mahant after his grandfather Pt. Amarnath Mishra, who along with handling the arrangements of music festivals, has also demonstrated his art on Mridangam.

Despite being a professor at IIT, Mahant is a professor of music. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra has such a passion that he takes out time to practice. Pro. Mishra told that he started taking training in Pakhawaj playing when he was just 10 years old. His grandfather and guru Pt. Amarnath Mishra, father Prof. Virbhadra Mishra was also an expert in playing Pakhavaj.

After the death of Dada Pt. Amarnath Mishra in 1980, the practice was stopped but in 2016 he again started beating the Pakhawaj and the practice continued. Pro. Mishra told that due to busy daily life, he does not get time to practice daily. Despite this, sometimes we take out time and practice. Music is the easiest medium to connect directly with God.

Pro. Vishwambhar Nath Mishra said that he never thought that he would share the stage in the Sankatmochan Temple music festival. This has become possible only due to the inspiration and desire of Hanuman ji. There is no age limit to learn music. Whenever you feel like learning, you can start. Today, when you do better on stage, the public welcomes you and if you don’t do better, you are shown the door. The examination of musicians is more difficult.
