Satyaprem Ki Katha Review: This ‘love story’ of Karthik-Kiara may not be perfect, but will win hearts

Satyaprem Ki Katha Movie Review In Hindi: The pair of Karthik Aryan and Kiara Advani rocked the box office last year through ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. The same pair is now coming again among the audience in the film ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ released today. Releasing on the occasion of Eid, this film is a family entertainer, in which marriage, romance, emotion were all seen in the trailer. In order not to hurt sentiments, ‘Satya Narayan Ki Katha’ was changed to ‘Satya Prem Ki Katha’. But will this film of director Sameer Vidwans be successful in awakening the feelings of the audience towards this film? Let us tell you in this review.

What does the story say: Satyaprem (Karthik Aryan), who lives in a Gujarati family, falls in love at first sight with Katha (Kiara Advani), the daughter of a big businessman from Ahmedabad. But Satyaprem does not tell his feelings to Katha, because Katha already has a boyfriend. After 1 year, Sattu comes to know that Katha has broken up, so he reaches out to her again and tries. Katha and Sattu get married, but this marriage is not the same as the common marriages. After all, why is it like this, what is the reason that even after marriage the story is not of Sattu, then to know that you will have to go to the cinema halls.

You will feel a bit awkward in the very first scene of this film made in Gujarati environment. Sattu, who has failed in the law exam, sweeps the house, washes the utensils and his sister eats breakfast at the table. However, it is not as easy to digest all this from the very first scene. But this is the great thing about this film that when you go ahead and see Sattu’s personality, his decisions, then you can understand that this Sattu is not the same as the definition of ‘manhood’. The first half of the story serves the story with comedy. There is laughter at some places, but whether you laugh or laugh a lot, that is a bit difficult.

will make the second half emotional
At one moment in the second half, you will feel that the story is over, but only then the film moves forward. Second half is more emotional. The speed of the story is like a porridge cooked on low heat. But for the kind of serious subject this story is treating, it seems right to some extent to cook it on slow flame. If more layers of the story are opened then it will be a spoiler, but I must say that director Sameer Vidwans has tried to present a very important story, which should be appreciated.

Karthik Aryan’s past sins are washed away
Talking about acting, Karthik Aryan has also appeared in this film in full on energy with his same bright smile. But you will like Karthik’s stay in the second half. The philosophy of Sattu’s character is ‘what to think before speaking the truth’ and he shows the same. After seeing Karthik while watching this film, I remembered his previous films like ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ or ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’ and can say that this single film has washed away all his past sins. Although Karthik has also done films like ‘Akashvani’ before ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, which talks about such a very serious subject. These films of Karthik will always be seen shining in his filmography.

At the same time, Kiara Advani has portrayed the character of the story very well. His eyes clearly show you the pain that has been told in this story. Kiara looks beautiful in her character. Gajraj Rao and Supriya Pathak are busy conferencing as usual. There is not much for the rest of Shikha Talsania.

‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ is a romantic film, which talks about more than just romance. Just keeping this story in front, there is more use of emotions and less use of entertainment. At some places the film becomes heavy. But there are many parts in the second half which make you realize that what we thought was perfect till now, is also an imposition on someone. There may be many shortcomings in this film, but this story is an important story, which with its emotions and message will probably force you to change your perspective. 3.5 stars to this film from my side.
