In the Parliament of Pakistan, the country’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has revealed that about 20 thousand Pakistani citizens are lodged in jails of different countries of the world. Out of which more than 10 thousand Pakistanis alone are lodged in the jails of Saudi Arabia. These Pakistanis lodged in Saudi jail were involved in many crimes. For this reason the Saudi Arabian government has imprisoned him.

Pak Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said in Parliament, “19,997 Pakistanis are lodged in foreign jails. Of these, 10,279 Pakistanis are lodged in jails in Saudi Arabia only. Efforts are being made to bring them back.”
He further said, “Those who are completing their sentence and their travel documents have expired are being re-issued.”
Ishaq Dar appealed to the Pakistani community and said that the Pakistani community should help in paying the fine of those who have completed their sentence. He also said that there is no obstacle in bringing these Pakistani people back to the country. Saudi Arabia has agreed to send back 570 prisoners under a bilateral agreement.

According to data from Pakistan’s 88th diplomatic mission, 68 Pakistani citizens in 10 countries have been sentenced to death, which can be given at any time. Pakistanis lodged in jails in different countries of the world have been accused of various attacks including terrorism, murder, drug smuggling, human trafficking, illegal migration.
The largest number of Pakistanis in the world are lodged in Saudi jails. At the same time, 5,292 Pakistanis are imprisoned in the neighboring UAE. There are 598 people in jail in Greece, facing charges ranging from human trafficking to murder and rape.
