Keeping in view the safety of school children, Bihar government has taken an important decision. The state government has issued a new order against three-wheelers like autos and totos carrying children to schools. The government has taken this step in view of the increasing road accidents and shortcomings in the transport system. From now on, school children in Bihar will not be able to go to school in these vehicles. This order will be applicable in the entire state from the month of April.
The main objective of the order is to protect children.
The government has issued this order from the safety point of view, because autos and totos lack safety features and often more children are seated in these vehicles than their capacity, which increases the risk of road accidents. Apart from this, violation of traffic rules is also common in these vehicles. Transport Department officials say that this decision has been taken to ensure the safety of children.
Provision of licensed vehicles will be mandatory
Under this order, schools will now have to arrange for licensed and safe vehicles to transport children. The Transport Department has clarified that if any school operator uses auto and toto, he will have to face strict punishment. Patna Traffic SP has also confirmed that from now onwards using auto to go to school will be illegal.
warning of strict action
When the new session starts after the school holidays, the Transport Department and the Traffic Police will jointly take strict action against the auto and toto drivers violating this order. If any driver is found violating this rule, punitive action will be taken against him.
