Regarding this, the top school education officer of the Union Government says that it is very important for children to stay away from social media but the challenge is how to do this in this era of technology when a major part of education is related to technology. He believes that this is having an adverse effect on the imagination power of children.

According to India Today’s report, Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, says that it is good to write 280 letters on social media platform X and express your thoughts but this also limits your imagination power. Children need great imagination and print provides this opportunity.
It is very difficult to get out of technology
Sanjay Kumar further said that managing technology is very difficult. There is no way through which people can come out of this. Actually he was answering a question in which he was asked how technology can be used in education but it should not affect the pedagogy and learning approach.
Also talked about the benefits
While speaking at the enclave, the school education officer also talked about the benefits of technology. He explained how every student will be given a unique ID through Apaar ID and all their data will be kept safely in DigiLocker. This will also help in tracking every child and understanding his progress. After this, every child will be able to become a part of the education system.
What is ‘Apaar’
The full form of the ID that the school education officials are talking about is Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. It will be known as the Apaar ID of the students. It will have a record of all their credits, all their certificates, or in other words, all their academic details. It can be opened anywhere with this unique number and all the academic records of the student will be available with just one click. They will not have to roam around with their certificates from place to place.
Even attendance will be visible in this ID
Sanjay Kumar further said that as soon as we access the ID of a student on DigiLocker, we can even see how much attendance a student has, how he is doing in which subject, how many children are performing the worst in Maths in a particular area (the children who perform poorly in Maths are the first ones to leave school), etc. In this way, he also talked about all the benefits.
