Amidst the stupendous success of Pathan, Bollywood king Shahrukh Khan narrated an anecdote related to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). He revealed that at that time filmmaker Aditya Chopra had asked him to work on an action film, but he told the story of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Now Shahrukh thanked Aditya Chopra and said that he fulfilled his 30 years old promise by making Pathan.
Shahrukh told the old story
Shahrukh Khan said in his latest statement, ‘It is a matter of that period, when we were shooting for the film Darr. Pam Aunty, Aditya, Juhi were all with us. We used to play Scrabble at night. Out of the entire unit, I was the closest to Aditya, because we are similar in terms of age and understanding. One day, when it was Aditya’s birthday, he said that he wanted to make a film. I replied that I will also work in that film. Aditya told that I will play the role of an action hero in the film. At that time I got very excited because of the film Darr.

Shahrukh told that after three-four years, Aditya called me. He said that we talk about the action film. I also wanted to do an action film because no one had offered me such a film till then. I myself wanted to do such a film, in which I have the best body and even after being soaked in blood, I have a gun in my hand and a girl with me. Aditya took me to Mehboob studio and narrated the story of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.
Cheated in the name of action film
Shahrukh further said, ‘I asked where is the action in this? I talked to Yash ji. Told them what has happened to Aditya? He had brought me to narrate the story of the action film. On this, Aditya said that we will do it later, but after DDLJ, we made Dil To Pagal Hai. We kept making films continuously, but did not work on an action film.

According to Shahrukh, ‘Aditya called me again four years ago. Siddharth was also present there. Aditya said that he will work on an action film, so I told my manager Pooja Dadlani that he is lying. It will not make an action film. But I am thankful to Aditya that he has fulfilled his 30 years old promise.
