Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda: Puri’s Shankaracharya Swami Nischalanand Saraswati claimed on Tuesday (January 31) that the ancestors of Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ have been proved to be Sanatani Hindus. He said in Bhubaneswar that, “Opposition members in America have raised this issue in Parliament. The ancestors of Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ have been proved to be Sanatani Hindu.” He further said that governments should not have control over temples.
Shankaracharya Swami Nischalanand Saraswati said, “Temples and maths should not be controlled by governments and money needs to be spent for the development of every place.” When asked about the missing key of Puri’s Ratna Bhandar, the Shankaracharya said, “The Odisha government and the Jagannath temple administration never consulted on any issue regarding the temple. Why should I interfere in the missing key issue of Ratna Bhandar?” do?”
The keys were lost 38 years ago
There are a total of seven treasuries inside the temple, one of which is always open. About 38 years ago the keys of four treasuries were lost, but the District Magistrate had only two keys. Earlier, Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nischalanand Saraswati had talked about the issue of cracks in the houses in Joshimath, respecting nature and promoting development. Shankaracharya Swami Nischalanand Saraswati had said that there is a need to maintain balance.
“Our job is to keep the earth and environment clean”
Joshimath in Uttarakhand has been declared a ‘sinking zone’ in view of frequent land subsidence with cracks appearing in many houses, roads and other buildings. Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati had also said that the word development should be understood in its proper context. He said that earth, water and air are sources of energy. It is our job to keep the earth and environment clean and pollution free.
