According to news agency PTI, Tharoor, Lok Sabha MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, said about India’s non-alignment policy that we are still non-aligned and are members of the Non-Aligned Movement, but at present there is not much clarity about what its specific meaning is. .

Talking about China’s rapid progress, he said that America and the (then) Soviet Union are no longer the two superpowers of the world. He said that now there are two superpowers, one is America and the other is rapidly growing China.

‘China is adopting a hostile attitude’

Congress leader Shashi said all this in a talk show at Kolkata International Book Fair on Saturday. Tharoor said that in such circumstances, when China, which has adopted a hostile attitude, is sitting on the border of India, then one cannot be truly non-aligned with it.

He also emphasized that if China adopts a more aggressive stance, then there is every possibility that India will also have to make concrete choices. Former diplomat Tharoor said that India is not in an alliance like NATO, but it has partnered with America, Australia and Japan in Quad.

‘India is much closer to Israel than before’

The Kerala MP said that India is also a member of a new group I2U2 which includes India, Israel, America and United Arab Emirates. He also said that I do not know what the future of I2U2 is after the Gaza conflict. As far as India’s relations with Israel are concerned, India has come much closer to Israel than before.
