Karishma Kumari of Shekhpura has brought glory to the district by winning the bronze medal in the 68th National School Taekwondo Championship 2024-25 held in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh. Coach Kundan Kumar, who was leading the Bihar team in this competition held from November 8 to 12, said that Karishma, with her indomitable courage and hard work, performed brilliantly and won the bronze medal.
Coach Kundan Kumar told that Karishma defeated the player from Assam in the first fight, defeated Madhya Pradesh in the second and made it to the semi-finals by defeating the opponent from Telangana in the third fight. However, after a close fight in the semi-finals, Karishma had to be satisfied with the bronze medal.
Shekhpura District Taekwondo Association Secretary and international coach Vishwajit Kumar congratulated Karishma for this wonderful achievement. He said that this victory of Karishma is an inspiration for the players of Sheikhpura district. This will increase people’s interest towards Taekwondo sport. Senior Deputy Collector of the district and Deputy Superintendent of Sports Dharamraj also congratulated Karishma and her coach Kundan Kumar and assured that Karishma and her coach will be honored at the district level.
Shekhpura Taekwondo Association coach Amar Kumar also wished Karishma all the best. At the same time, sports in-charge Rakesh Kumar, Gaurav Kumar and Rajnanandan Sharma also congratulated Karishma and the coach for this achievement. This success of Karishma has enhanced the prestige of not only Sheikhpura but entire Bihar and has created a new identity for the district in the field of Taekwondo.
