However, in June 2020, the Indian government banned 58 Chinese apps including Shein due to security reasons, which included PUBG Mobile, TikTok, and AliExpress etc.

Partnership with Reliance

Shein is back in India this time with Reliance Retail. Officially, Reliance has not shared the details of this deal, but it is being claimed in media reports that the partnership between the two companies has been done and the brand will be re-launched soon. For some time after the ban, the clothes of this brand were available through Amazon and other e-commerce websites, although later they were removed from here too. But once again the famous brand is going to make a comeback in India. Shein will use the resources of Reliance Retail in India and sell its products through this.

Shein brand was started in 2008. Gradually this brand became popular due to trendy clothes at low prices and started doing business at the global level. According to a Bloomberg report, in 2021, Shein’s sales grew by 60% and reached $ 16 billion worldwide.

BGMI launched back in India
