Giving a New Year gift to the Shikshamitras posted in the council schools of Uttar Pradesh, the government has issued a government order to return them to the original school (first place of posting). In this also, women Shiksha Mitras will get double benefit. She will also be able to get posting in her in-laws’ district. Not only this, all Shikshamitras will also be given the option to remain posted in their current working school.

1.42 lakh Shikshamitras of the state have been agitating for a long time demanding return of their original schools and increase in honorarium. After the recent agitation, the government started positive action on this. Amar Ujala had also published a news titled “The wait for transfer of Shikshamitras and increase in honorarium is getting longer” in its January 2 issue. Taking cognizance of this, the government on Friday issued orders for transfer/adjustment of Shikshamitras.
