So far, many actresses have made shocking revelations about sexual harassment that happened to them. Shilpa Shinde was also a victim of sexual harassment
Shilpa Shinde, who became famous by playing the character of Angoori Bhai in Bhabhi Ji Ghar Ghar, has made a shocking revelation in an interview to News18 Show. She claimed that she was once asked to seduce a filmmaker under the guise of an audition. Shilpa said, “This was during my struggling days, around 1998-99. I cannot take names, but he told me, ‘You wear these clothes and do this scene. I did not wear those clothes. In the scene, he told me that he is my boss, and I have to attract him. I was very innocent then, so I did this scene.
The man tried to force himself on me and I was very scared. I pushed him away and ran outside. The security guards realised what had happened and asked me to leave immediately. They thought I would create a scene and ask for help.”
Shilpa did not take the name of the film maker
Shilpa further said, “He was from the Hindi film industry. I agreed to do the scene because he was also an actor.” She further said, “I am not lying, but I cannot take his name. His children are probably a little younger than me and they will also feel bad if I take his name.”
Shilpa also mentioned a meeting with the same producer years later. The actress said, “After a few years, I met him again, and he spoke to me lovingly. He did not recognize me and even refused me a role in a film. He still does not remember me.”
Many people in the industry have had such experiences
The actress further said that many others in the industry have had similar experiences. Shilpa said, “These things happen to everyone. Some have run away like me. We, as actors, have talked about it, and others have told me that they have faced similar situations, even famous celebrities.
Shilpa further said, “When people talk about sexual harassment, I strongly believe that yes, you may have been approached, but you also have the option to say no. You can choose not to be a part of it. It happens to everyone.”
