Often, surprising experiences happen in the world of medicine. A British student had to die for 25 minutes during a critical surgery due to a “silent killer” disease, which he never knew about. 20-year-old Charlie Vincent was taken to the hospital with burns due to sunburn during a trip to America. But during treatment there, another problem was found and his condition worsened during the operation and Charlie remained “dead” for 25 minutes, after which he was saved by a miracle.
Doctors immediately noticed he had patches of pneumonia on his lungs during treatment. The young man from Thompsonshire had undergone an operation for a respiratory infection but suffered a shock cardiac arrest during surgery. Charlie suffered a small stroke as doctors attempted to restart his heart. His family said it took 25 minutes for Charlie’s heart to restart.
Charlie’s 24-year-old sister Emily Vincent described his recovery on the operating table as a “miracle”. The student was in New Hampshire during the summer holidays teaching six-year-olds canoeing. Charlie suffered severe sunburn on his legs after just a few hours of being outside.

The third-year film student at De Montfort University in Leicester was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but after examination doctors discovered he had pneumonia in his lungs as well as an enlarged heart which was causing his vital organs to function more than normal.
Doctors say Charlie was born with a dangerous heart condition known as cardiomegaly. But pneumonia can cause it to flare up and worsen. Charlie spent a week in a coma after the near-fatal surgery. But doctors were stunned when his organs began to show signs of improvement. Charlie is now back on his feet and walking again.
