The 21st edition of SIP Abacus Prodigy Competition was organized on 10 November 2024 in Kolkata. About 5800 youth from 11 countries participated in it and showed their mathematical talent. In this international level event, children aged 6 to 14 years showed a glimpse of their abilities. These children solved 300 arithmetic questions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in just 11 minutes.
Platform to increase confidence and showcase skills
This competition held under the SIP Abacus program was like a race against time, which provided an excellent learning experience to the children. The objective of this program was to develop important skills like concentration, visual memory and logical thinking in children. This not only increased the self-confidence of the children, but they also learned how to deal with difficult problems.

Dr. Saibal Chattopadhyay, Director-in-Charge of IIM Kolkata was the chief guest of this program. He said that this competition will give children an opportunity to think big for the future. Meanwhile, Dinesh Victor, MD of SIP Abacus India and International, emphasized on the impact of this program. He said that Abacus is a great program that helps children develop concentration, visual memory and a strong foundation in mathematics.
