In Aligarh, six accused have been convicted after 18 years in the much talked about SP leader Vikar murder case, which took place in the rivalry of political-criminal supremacy in Chharra area. The date for hearing on the sentence has been fixed for 16 July. This verdict was pronounced by the court of District Judge Sanjeev Kumar Singh on 12 July. Those who have been convicted include the district’s history sheeter Mujahid Hasan Khan Guddu, former SP district vice president and brother of Congress Metropolitan President Shan Mian etc. Five of the convicted have been sent to jail in judicial custody, while non-bailable warrants have been issued against one of them for absconding.
The incident is of 6 May 2006. According to Makdoom, a resident of village Paraura in Barla, the plaintiff in the case, he had come to the Chharra market for some work with his younger brother Vikar, a close associate of SP leader and former SP MLA Vireshe Yadav, at around 4:45 in the evening. From here, he was passing through Mohalla Pathanan, when Mushir and Naseem met him and engaged Vikar in conversation and took him to the street of their house. Where other named accused Mujahid Guddu, Khalid, Shan Mian, Javed were already waiting in ambush and they unanimously shot Vikar.
The accused in the case, Makdoom, took the bullet-injured Vikaar to the town’s nursing home, where he was declared dead. The police registered a case in the matter and on the basis of investigation filed a charge sheet against the accused twice. The trial went on for a long time in the court. After this, on the basis of evidence and testimony, the date of decision was fixed on Friday. All the accused were summoned in the afternoon. But all the accused appeared in the court except Musheer. On the basis of arguments and evidence of both sides, the session judge declared all the six accused guilty and ordered them to be taken into custody. When Musheer absconded, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. The rest were sent to jail.
