Smartphone: Do you also feel that your partner spends more time on the phone than with you? So you are not alone in feeling this way. Vivo India in collaboration with Cybermedia Research (CMR) has conducted a study on married couples. In this study, a vast majority (69%) of Indian couples admitted that they are distracted by their smartphones and due to this they are not able to pay enough attention to their partner. More things have come to light in this study, about which we are going to talk in this article.
These things came to the fore in the study
70% of the people involved in the study also accepted that they sometimes get irritated when they are busy on their phone and their spouse asks something. In addition, for 90% of people, the smartphone is the most preferred way of spending time comfortably. 88% claim that spending free time on the phone has become a part of their behaviour. Perhaps this is the reason why people are spending an average of 4.7 hours on smartphones every day. Now talking about husband and wife, this figure is same in both.
So many people want to reform
84% of these people want to mend their ways and spend time with their better half. 66% also admitted that their relationship with their spouse has weakened due to excessive smartphone use. This shows that people are realizing the negative impact of phone overuse on their lives and want to improve it.
Difficult to break the habit
Studies show that breaking the habit can be challenging. The study confirms that smartphones have become an integral part of people’s lives, with 84% saying they "have become part of his body and cannot be separated." 60% of the respondents agreed that smartphones are helping them stay connected with their near and dear ones. While 59% believed that smartphones improve their knowledge. 58% said smartphones have made shopping easier.
