Snowfall and rain in the hilly areas of Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir has awakened a new ray of hope for the farmers. Happiness is clearly visible on the faces of the farmers who have been waiting for the rain for a long time. Rain has not only brought moisture to the soil, but has also created favorable conditions for sowing of wheat crop.  Apart from this, this rain will also have a positive effect on mustard and vegetable crops. Farmer Varinder Sharma said, this rain will increase soil fertility and crops will improve. This change in weather will help us reap the rewards of our hard work.

Overall, this rain has brought relief to the farmers and an increase in crop production will be seen in the coming days. I believe that at such a time, farmers needed water for their crops. After this rain, we farmers will use fertilizer for the crops. I hope that our hard work will bear fruits and there will be good production of crops. One or two more such rains are needed, which will make the crop better.

Snowfall in other areas also

In fact, apart from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, the first snowfall of the season was also recorded in the plains of Ganderbal, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts. Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that efforts are underway to remove snow.
