Sonakshi told Kareena that Dabangg was over. Salman and Arbaaz Khan saw me at Amrita Arora’s wedding. By then I had lost weight. He told me- ‘He is writing something and he felt that I was perfect for this role. I never took them seriously. Then, he came to my house to narrate the script. My entire family sat and listened. He nodded, shook hands and left. The next thing I saw was that I was on the sets of Dabangg. It seemed as if an arranged marriage was taking place. But once I reached the set, I realized that I wanted to do this, and since then I have been doing this. I was an overweight teenager at that time who had lost weight. No one had asked me if I wanted to do films. I was just told that I am doing this.
In an interview given to PTI, Sonakshi had talked about her casting in Dabangg. He had said- This was very sudden for me. I was studying fashion designing.
