Sonam Wangchuk cancels March to China Border know what is reason Ladakh

Ladakh Protest: Activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is involved in the movement demanding Sixth Schedule status to Ladakh, said here on Tuesday (April 16) that she has canceled her proposed march to the China border for the second time this month due to ‘non-cooperation’ from the local administration. Cancelled.

‘Leh Apex Body’ (LAB), an organization of social and religious groups, along with Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) had planned to launch their march on Wednesday (April 17).

Why was the march to the Chinese border cancelled?
Wangchuk claimed that the aim of the march was only to know whether the pastures in the area were being encroached upon by big industrialists to set up projects and whether China had snatched away Indian land. He told reporters, ‘Due to the over-reactionary stance of the administration, we have decided to cancel the ‘Pashmina March’ for the second time.’

There is a demand to include Ladakh in the Sixth Schedule
This group is agitating for the demand of giving full statehood to Ladakh and including it in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. Wangchuk said the administration did not allow them to march on foot and instead suggested going to the area in vehicles. He was accompanied by other leaders including LAB co-chairman Charing Dorje. “Going there in vehicles will not serve our purpose because we want to show the truth together with our herdsmen,” he said.

What was Sonam Wangchuk’s plan?
Wangchuk said, “We were planning to go there in a small group of just 12 persons and were hoping that the government would help in our journey to show the outside world that herders are not being deprived of their grazing lands. There is no problem and not even an inch of our land has gone anywhere.” He recently went on a 21-day hunger strike.
