On Wednesday near Chandi Tirahe of the city under Sadar Kotwali on the Varanasi-Shaktinagar Highway, an uncontrollable truck crushed a constable who was going to Varanasi on the security duty of the Prime Minister. The constable’s body was split into two after coming under the wheels of the truck. His bike fell on the divider far away. The driver fled leaving the truck. Traffic on the highway was also affected for a long time due to the incident.
Vivek Banerwal (32), a resident of Tola Ahibaran of Shrirampur police station area of Deoria district, was admitted to the UP Police in 2020. At this time his posting was in Ghoraval Kotwali. He was on duty in the Prime Minister’s program in Varanasi. On Wednesday morning Vivek left for VIP duty by bike.
After reaching Robertsganj, as soon as he reached the highway via Chandi Tirahe, a speeding truck from Lodhi side hit him. Due to the strong collision of the truck, the bike jumped and fell on the divider, while Vivek came under the truck. Due to being crushed by the loaded truck, Vivek’s body was divided into two parts near the waist.
