Shop owner Sagar Walian said that today his shop is famous in Sonipat, Haryana as well as in the country and abroad. Thousands of people reach his shop every day to eat the milk-peda from his shop. Due to the demand for these trees in foreign countries, they also send these trees to foreign countries through parcels.
This is how making pedas started in 1930
Owner Sagar told that the shop of Pyarelal Pedewala in Sonipat was started in the year 1930 by late Pyarelal. He told that in the year 1930, Pyarelal was making dry fruits by boiling milk in a pan, after which he mixed something sweet in it. When people ate it, they started liking it and from there the sale of this famous Peda started. As time passed, the sale of trees increased. With the changing times, new changes have also been seen in this famous shop which is about 95 years old. Along with Pyarelal trees, people are also relishing the taste of milk prepared with Kadhai and Lassi prepared with Kulhar. This shop was started by Pyarelal in 1930. After his death, his son Satyaprakash took over the functioning of this shop. After him, now his two grandsons i.e. his third generation are running this shop.
Price of one peda today is Rs 50
People who come to the shop to eat doodh-peda say that they have been coming to Sonipat shop for years to eat Pyarelal’s peda and they remember in 1997 when one Pyarelal peda was available for only seven rupees and today the price of the same peda is Rs 50. But people have been coming to the shop continuously for years to eat Pyarelal’s peda.
Taste of Peda has not changed even after 95 years
People coming to the shop say that they too have been coming to Pyarelal’s shop for years to eat peda, but today even after almost 95 years, the taste of Pyarelal’s peda has not changed, they are getting the same taste as it was years ago.
