An FIR for electricity theft has been lodged against Sambhal SP MP Ziaur Rahman Burke. Whereas a report has been registered against his father Mamlukurrahman Burke and two bouncers Wasim and Salman for threatening electricity officials and employees.

On Thursday morning, the electricity team along with the force checked the appliances at the MP’s Deepasarai house and found electricity consumption of more than 16 kilo watts. Whereas for the last six months the electricity consumption of his house was zero.
Taking the matter seriously, the electricity officials have also cut off the electricity to his house. On Tuesday, the officials arrived with the force and installed the smart meter. After this, at 7.30 am on Thursday, the team led by Electricity SDO Ajay Sharma and Santosh Tripathi reached the house of MP Ziaur Rahman Burke in Deepasarai.
A large number of forces were also present for security. During this time the team checked the electrical equipment for about an hour. After checking the smart meter and appliances in the house, the power consumption was found to be around 16480 watts.
Not only this, the MRI report of the old meter (testing the meter in the lab) has confirmed theft of electricity by bypassing the meter. On the other hand, during the investigation in the house, MP’s father Mamluqur Rahman Burke is accused of threatening the electricity officials.
According to electricity officials, the MP’s father has threatened to take action if the SP government comes to power. Electricity SE Vinod Kumar Gupta said that an FIR for electricity theft has been lodged against MP Ziaur Rahman.
A case has been registered against his father Mamluqur Rahman Burke for threatening, indecency and obstructing government work.
