To make moong dal potli vegetable, soak two cups of yellow moong dal for two to three hours, two green chilies, one inch piece of ginger, salt as per taste, half teaspoon chili flakes, one teaspoon coarsely ground fennel, one asafoetida. Pinch, one spoon chopped green coriander leaves, water as required, take half meter of muslin cloth.

Now for the gravy, two medium sized onions cut into thick pieces, two green chilies, one inch piece of ginger, seven-eight cloves of garlic, two bay leaves, half teaspoon fenugreek seeds, four-five cloves, seven-eight black peppercorns. , one inch piece of cinnamon, two teaspoons coriander powder, one tablespoon curd, half teaspoon garam masala, half teaspoon kasuri methi, one teaspoon red chili powder, half teaspoon turmeric powder, half teaspoon coarsely ground dry coriander (coriander seeds) , salt and take oil and water as per need.

Recipe for making Moong Dal Potli curry
To make moong dal potli sabzi, first wash the soaked moong dal thoroughly and drain the water. After this put the dal in the mixer grinder jar. Add ginger and green chillies along with it and grind the lentils without water to make a fine paste. Now add salt, chili flakes, asafoetida, green coriander and coarsely ground fennel to this paste and mix everything well. Now tie this mixture of lentils in a muslin cloth and make a bundle out of it. Then heat water in a deep vessel on the gas and put a bowl in it. Then put the bundle of lentils in this bowl, cover the pan with a lid and let the lentils cook on high flame for fifteen minutes. Then turn off the gas and cool the potli and open it. Then cut the dal potli into pieces and keep it aside.

Now put onion, garlic, ginger and green chillies in a mixer grinder jar and make a fine paste and keep it aside. Then put a pan on the gas and put oil in it and let it heat up. Now put bay leaves, fenugreek seeds, cloves, black pepper, cinnamon, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, coarsely ground fennel, coarsely ground dry coriander and salt in the oil and cook it for a minute. Then mix onion, garlic, ginger and green chili paste in it and cook it till it leaves the oil. Then when the masala leaves the oil, prepare the gravy by mixing one spoon of whipped curd in it. Now add pieces of moong dal potli to this gravy and cover it and cook for some time after adding some water as per need. Finally, mix garam masala, kasoori fenugreek and green coriander in it. Your moong dal potli curry is ready.
