Tomato and Date Chutney Recipe:
To make chutney, you will need 250 grams of ripe red tomatoes. Wash the tomatoes and you will have to take 7-8 ripe dates along with them. Wash the tomatoes and make 4 cuts on the top but the tomatoes should be connected at the bottom.
Now boil water in a pan, add tomatoes in it, cover and cook on low flame for 5 minutes. When the water cools down, take out the tomatoes and remove the peel. The peel of the entire tomato will come off easily. Now cut the tomatoes into thick pieces.
Add 2 spoons of mustard oil in a pan. Now mix mustard, cumin, fenugreek, nigella and fennel in oil and add it. Cook for some time and then add 2 whole dry red chillies to it.
Now add chopped tomatoes and then add salt on top. Cover and cook the tomatoes on medium flame for 2 minutes. When the tomatoes melt, mash them lightly and mix 100 grams of sugar.
Remove the seeds from the dates and cut them lengthwise. If you want, you can also chop some mango papad and add it to it. Now cover and cook this chutney for 4 minutes. Turn off the gas and take out the chutney when it cools down.
If you want, you can also add whole dates to this chutney. Eat this chutney with paratha or roti. Children will also like its taste very much. You can easily eat it by storing it in the refrigerator for 10-15 days.
