Especially these chillies have won the hearts of women for pickles with their amazing taste and spiciness. Along with good arrival, there is huge consumption of it these days. In fact, this bicoloured chilli, known as Khandar, is reaching Karauli in large quantities every day from Khandar tehsil of Sawaimadhopur.

Its biggest specialty is that this chilli is best for pickles and unlike other chillies, its pickle period is more than a year. That is, if you pickle it once, it does not spoil for a year. This chilli, which appears long and thick in shape, looks hard from outside and soft from inside. This chilli is very good in taste and is also full of spiciness.

Available in the months of January and February
According to vegetable traders, this chilli comes in the market only in the months of January and February. It is used as pickle only during these months. This is a ripe chilli from Khandar tehsil of Sawai Madhopur district, which does not spoil for a year when pickled. This chilli is famous far and wide for the excellent taste of its pickles. Its pickle can also be put in both oil and buttermilk.

Vegetable trader Rakesh Chauhan says that this chilli, which is tough on top, is not very thick either. This medium sized chilli is half ripe and half raw and appears light maroon and green in colour. This chilli of Khandar is also full of spiciness and spiciness. Due to which it gives spicy taste and interesting taste to the pickle.

These days, the best desi chilli of Khandar for pickles is available for Rs 70 per 2 kg.
