Anura Kumar’s party supports strong state intervention in the economy, low taxes and more closed markets. Anura Kumara Disanayake (55) is known for giving passionate speeches. For the first time within Sri Lanka, a Marxist leader is going to become the President. India is also keeping an eye on the elections taking place in Sri Lanka. Disanayake has also been making statements against the Indian company Adani Group during the election campaign.

Disanayake will stop India’s project
According to The Hindu report, before voting on Monday, Anura Kumara vowed to cancel the Adani Group’s wind energy project. During a program, he was asked whether Adani Group’s wind energy is a threat to Sri Lanka’s sovereignty? To this, Anura Kumara replied in the affirmative. He said that he will definitely stop this project, it is a threat to Sri Lanka’s energy sovereignty. Along with this, between 1987 and 1990, Disanayake’s party had revolted violently against India.
