But, have you ever heard that due to the problem of drinking water, village boys remain bachelors? Yes, the situation is similar in a village in Damoh, MP. The drinking water problem here is so severe that people from other villages do not marry their daughters in this village.
The latest pictures are from Jarua village of Imlidol Gram Panchayat of Tendukheda block of Damoh district of MP. The total population here is around 1200. Here people start facing drinking water crisis from the beginning of summer. The villagers have to travel a long distance of about one kilometer to fetch water. To fetch water one has to walk to a pond in the drain. The same water quenches the thirst of villagers and domesticated cattle.

Shivprasad Adivasi of Jarua village told Local 18 that his daughter is getting married in his house. Meanwhile, water is required to prepare dishes. I have taken a tanker on rent. With which I have come to this pond. Halle Yadav told that the problem of water crisis has reached its peak in this village in the last 15 to 18 years. The situation is worsening day by day.
Villagers do not give daughters
He further said that now such a situation has come that people from other villages marry their daughters from Jarua village, but do not tie their daughters here. The people of the nearby village are not ready to give daughters to the boys of this village. The reason is clear, here people start their day by filling water and keep filling water till evening. If there is a pregnant woman, she also has to come to fill water in the pond.

District CEO Manish Bagri said that Jarua village is a tribal dominated area. Due to the rocky soil there, borewells, hand pumps or any other scheme fails again and again. Discussions have been held with Jal Nigam officials regarding the summer season. Efforts are being made to resolve this problem as soon as possible.
