This has increased the demand for cold beverages. People are drinking juices and other liquids to beat the heat. At the Post Office Chowk in Gopalganj city, Upendra is offering people a special kind of shikanji by setting up a handcart. Upendra has named it Delhi Wali Shikanji.
Upendra, a resident of Hussepur in Gopalganj district, says that he lived in Delhi for four years and worked selling shikanji. After this, he sold Shikanji even after living in Bhatinda, Punjab for a few years. Then one day a thought came in my mind that why not start this business in my home district itself. With this, you will stay close to home and money will also be saved. After this, Upendra returned to Gopalganj. For the last six months, he has been serving Delhi flavored shikanji to the people by setting up a handcart at the post office chowk. People are liking the taste of his Shikanji.
Upendra told that he sets up shop on the handcart every day from 10 am to 4 pm. People are given half for 10 rupees and full shikanji for 20 rupees.
Godkatira is mixed to make Shikanji special.
Upendra told that to make Shikanji special, he adds water, lemon, mint and sugar. Apart from this, a special ingredient called Godkatira is also mixed in it. It gets very expensive. This is a type of Sanjeevani herb which is not available everywhere. Its price is one thousand rupees per kg. Godkatira is found in Rajasthan, Delhi and other big cities in Nepal.
Upendra told that Shikanji is very beneficial for the stomach and brings coolness to the body. There are many benefits of drinking Shikanji. He told that from 1,500 to 2,000 rupees are sold daily.
Basant Kumar, who is drinking Shikanji, told that Upendra’s Shikanji is very beneficial as well as tasty. They often come here to drink shikanji.
