Street Food: The famous ‘Munna ka Peda’ is made on wood fire, this much is sold every day

Gulshan Singh / Buxar, If you are fond of sweets, then you must taste the Munna Peda found in Buxar district of Bihar. His shop is located at Kajipur turn on Bhojpur-Dumri road under Dumraon subdivision of Buxar district of Bihar. Despite being a rural area, 70 to 80 kg of munna trees are sold every day. The special thing is that this peda made in a hut shop has reached many parts of the country including Bihar and UP for its excellent taste. People who love this sweet have packed it and taken it to foreign countries. People of the area who live abroad for work or employment, they definitely take Munna’s tree with them.

Munna Yadav, the chief artisan of the shop, says that he has a milk business. Along with this, he also runs a Peda shop. He started the Peda shop in the year 2019. Milk and sugar are needed to make this. He told that since he is in the business of milk, he prepares peda from pure milk. He said that at nine in the morning, he starts cooking (boiling) the milk on a low flame of wood. Peda is ready at 11 o’clock. He told that once 30 liters of milk is offered in a pan on the stove. In this, 11 to 12 kg of khoya comes out. They prepare delicious Peda by mixing sugar in it.

There is a profit of 400 rupees on every pan

Munna told that his three other brothers also support him in this work. He sells two types of trees at his shop at two different rates. One peda is Rs 200 per kg. Whereas, the price of the other is Rs 300 per kg. The reason for this is that the amount of sugar will be more in the cheap rate Peda. Whereas, sugar will be very less in the expensive one. He told that by deducting the total expenditure, he saves Rs 400 on a pan.
