People also call it Zenji Pakoda but it is very different from Pakoda. There is a food stall in Mahavir Nagar named Aela Bella Mozzarella. These special pakodas can be eaten here.

The idea of making blooming onions came from a foreign trip.
The owner of this stall, Anmol Mehta, while talking to Local 18, says that blooming onion is very tasty to eat. Such food is not easily seen in the list of street food of Mumbai. This is outside country food. Till now onion pakoda was the most famous in Mumbai, but the blooming onion of our stall is being liked very much by the people.

The idea of making this came to him during a foreign trip. Anmol had gone to Korea, where he ate blooming onion for the first time. After coming back from there, he learned to make it and then included it in the street food of Kandivali. As good as it looks, it is even more delicious to eat.

People named GenZ Pakoda
This is the era of Genji i.e. today’s young generation. Their style from eating to wearing clothes is different. The youth of this generation are fond of eating something new all the time. We have been eating pakodas for a long time, so blooming onion is something new. Pakodas have been replaced by blooming onions and the chutney served with them has been replaced by mayonnaise. That’s why many people have named this blooming onion as Genji Pakora. It looks like a flower.

This is how blooming onion is made
Even though some people have compared blooming onion to pakoda, the method of preparation and taste of it is very different. In this, especially big onion is used, then it is cut in the shape of a flower with the help of a machine. It is not mixed with gram flour and filtered, rather it is wrapped in 9 to 10 types of flour, then it is fried in oil. Some homemade spices are also used for special taste. The price of one blooming onion is ₹100. A total of 9 types of blooming onions are made here, out of which Peri-Peri blooming onion is most liked by the people.
