A student of class 12th in Punjabi Bagh area showed bravery and not only chased the snatcher who was running away but also caught one of them and handed him over to the police. While the other one ran away after throwing the phone on the spot. Police has registered a case of snatching on the complaint of the victim and after identifying the absconding miscreant, is raiding to arrest him.
16-year-old Mannat Rawat lives with her parents in Karmapura area. She studies in class 12 in a private school located in East Punjabi Bagh area. In a complaint to the police, Mannat said that she was returning home from school at 12.30 pm on September 10. Near Road No. 15 Gurudwara, someone called her on her mobile. She started talking on the phone. Meanwhile, two boys approached her, one of whom snatched the mobile phone from her hand.
After committing the crime, both the criminals started running away from there. Seeing the criminals running away, she raised an alarm and chased them. The criminal who snatched the phone gave the phone to his partner. After going some distance, she caught the criminal who snatched the phone, while his partner, fearing getting caught, threw the phone near the wall of the drain and escaped by jumping over the wall. Mannat informed the police about the incident. Police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The victim handed over the caught criminal and the phone to the police.
The police registered a case on the statement of the victim and arrested the miscreant. The arrested miscreant was identified as Amit, a resident of Karmapura slum. The police officer said that the arrested miscreant has revealed the identity of his partner. The police is conducting raids to arrest him.
