From the next session in BHU, the number of students from a total of eight states including Jammu-Kashmir and North-East will be increased. For this, they will be given higher priority in hostel allotment of BHU. Considering the distance of their homes, they will get priority. Besides, BHU can also start scholarship for the students of those states in future. Till now only around 60 students including UG-PG take admission from these eight states.

There was a long discussion on the proposals of the Central Admission Committee placed in the Academic Council of BHU. It was told that candidates from all over the country take admission in BHU, but the number of students from Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Meghalaya is very less. The regional diversity of BHU campus will be improved by connecting students from these states to higher education.

Children do not come due to distance: Prof. Chairman of Central Admission Committee in BHU. Bhaskar Bhattacharya told that candidates from these states will be given better opportunity to study in BHU. With the arrival of these boys and girls in BHU, diversity will be maintained in the academic situation of the campus. Preference can be given to students from far-flung areas in BHU by providing them hostel admission and financial assistance.
