The manager of a private school located in the Chinhat area of the capital expelled 80 children from the school on Monday. The children’s crime was that their parents could not pay the fees. As soon as the education department officials got information about the matter, they intervened and then the school manager allowed the children to sit. However, in this regard, Basic Education Officer Ram Pravesh has issued a notice holding the school manager guilty under the RTE Act and seeking answers.
Children had come to Siddhant World School in Chinhat area to study as usual, but the school manager threw the children out of the class as punishment for collecting outstanding fees. Some children even came to the road crying. When the parents came to know about this, they also reached the spot. Seeing the children crying, the parents got angry and a commotion started. On getting information about the matter, BSA Ram Pravesh sent BEO Raj Narayan Kushwaha to the spot, only then the school manager allowed the children to enter the class.
Principal said fees are due for 2 to 7 months, parents don’t listen
In this matter, school principal CL Paul says that there are about 80 children whose fees are outstanding for two to seven months. Parents were given notice but fees were not deposited. The principal has also submitted a list of 80 children whose fees are pending to the education department.
Teachers said it was the manager’s instructions
Other teachers of the school said that following the instructions given by the manager, the children were made to sit outside, so that their parents could come to the school and deposit the fees. When the parents came, they started creating ruckus.
said the parents
Meanwhile, parent Somesh Shukla said that the school manager has not given him any notice. Manish Verma said that the fees were pending so what happened to the children should not happen. What effect will this have on children? Most of the parents alleged that no notice was given to them.
BSA Ram Pravesh says that even if the fees are pending, children cannot be deprived of education. The way the school manager has thrown the children out is a violation of the RTE Act, a notice has been issued seeking answers.
DIOS Rakesh Kumar says that no school manager can expel small children in this way. If fees are outstanding then discussions should be held with the parents. This method of the school is wrong, appropriate action will be taken.
