Statistics show that most Indians prefer to go to the US, Canada, UK and Australia for studies. These states are on top
Before moving forward, let us know that these figures keep changing and today we are giving you information according to the data received in the year 2023. According to this, the first name in the list is Punjab. Punjab has the highest number of students among the total Indians going abroad. There are other states on the first position, only Punjab does not come at the top of the list.
These states give tough competition
Along with Punjab, the other states that top the list are – Andhra Pradesh/Telangana and Maharashtra. The percentage of total Indians going abroad from all these places is 12.5. That is, 12.5 percent of students from all these states – Punjab, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana and Maharashtra – go abroad for studies.
There are three states in second place as well
While the first position is being shared by four states, the second position is also shared by three states. These are Gujarat, Delhi NCR and Tamil Nadu. 8 percent of students from these three places go abroad for studies. The next name in the list is Karnataka, from here 6 percent of students go abroad for studies.
All other states are limited
The remaining 33 percent students are from all other states. According to the report, Punjab, Telangana and Maharashtra are the states from where most Indians go abroad for studies. Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Ireland, Singapore, Russia and France are the countries where Indian students now like to go the most.
Big numbers year after year
According to the Indian Student Mobility Report 2023, in the year 2019, about 10.9 lakh Indian students went abroad for studies. In the year 2022, there was a growth of seven percent and about 13.24 lakh students went abroad. It is estimated that by the year 2025, about 20 lakh students can go abroad for studies.
