After working as an accountant in Delhi for a long time, KV Rama Subba Reddy moved to his native village Nandyal and started cultivating millets on his own land with his parents and two brothers. After some time, he started processing millet and entered the market as an entrepreneur. At that time, Subba Reddy’s company started supplying nutritious cereals to the patients of Apollo Hospital. As a result of this, two big companies of Militsa are giving competition to Mibbles and Renadu. The products of Subba Reddy’s company Sattva Millits are seen in every food exhibition or every program related to Millits.

KV Rama Subba Reddy says that for many years his trend was increasing towards the village. After thinking more on this, in the year 2014, bought 20 acres of land in Anupuru village of Panyam mandal, which is now situated in Nandyal district. After buying the land, he returned to the office, but he always wanted to do something different, so he returned in between work and started doing natural farming. Meanwhile, KV Rama Subba Reddy took up the production of cereals, guava and banana through natural methods. After the year 2017, he returned to his village forever and got inspired by India’s ‘Millet Man Khadar Valli’ (Millet Man of India) and made up his mind to cultivate millets.

Cultivation of millets on 70 acres of land
With many hopes, KV Rama Subba Reddy started cultivation of Millets. On his 70 acres of land, along with his parents and two brothers, he started cultivating Ragi, Jowar, Bajra, Browntop, Foxtail, Little Millit, Kodo in addition to natural farming. After this, the cultivation of millets was not limited to production only. In order to make farmers aware about Millits, RARS started supplying seeds of nutritious grains in about 4000 acres through Nandyal. Told the farmers about these nutritious grains and ended the hassle of middlemen to get them the right price for the crop. For this, KV Rama Subba Reddy, along with his brothers, also started the unit of agricultural enterprise i.e. Agri Business.

Business stalled in Kovid lockdown
Subba Reddy says that the funding for this unit was received from his old friend. When the old boss was told about Militsa, he agreed to invest with a lot of encouragement, although this business was to be started in 10 to 15 lakhs, but the DPR was 1.5 crores. The struggles did not end here, after setting up the production unit in March 2020, the Covid lockdown was announced and the unit had to be closed for 6 months. When the lockdown opened, he made a new beginning and also entered into contracts with farmer producer organizations for the supply of raw materials. Whole Grain Millet Rice, Upma Rava, Idli Rava with Whole Grains and also from Nutri Cereals Foxtail Biscuit, Browntop Biscuit, Jowar Biscuit, Ragi Biscuit, Muruku, Chidwa, Ragi Malt, Multi in our unit after return in the year 2021-22 Started making millet laddus, health mix, multi-millet khichdi mix etc.

Received Best Start Up Award
Continuous work was going on to promote nutritious grains. Meanwhile, KV Rama Subba Rao continued to make protein food through his company Sattva Millits and Food Products. The special thing about the products made in his unit was that most of them were gluten free products, which are beneficial for health in every way. This is the reason why today the food products of Sattva Millits are being liked all over the country. KV Rama Subba Reddy has received ‘Best Progressive Farmer’ award from ANGRAU- RARS Nandyal and ‘Best Startup Farmer Connect’ award from ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad for supplying MILITS products on a large scale. After touching the heights of success, KV Rama Subba Reddy gave his success credit to his daughter Shweta. He says that his daughter designs most of the food products. These food products made by buying directly from the farmers are beneficial not only for the health of the consumer but also for the farmers.
