Former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s famous line is ‘I will not give up, I will not give up’, these lines have been realized by IAS Manisha Dharve. Manisha Dharve, 23, a resident of Bondaranya village in Jhirniya block of Khargone district, in her fourth attempt. UPSC Achieved success in 2023 by securing 257th rank. Manisha was in Delhi when the result was declared.
Manisha is the first IAS from her village.
Manisha Dharve comes from the tribal community and is the first girl from her village to clear UPSC. Along with this, there will also be the first IAS from the tribal community from the district. Mother Jamna Dharve and father Gangaram Dharve both are teachers in government schools. Father Gangaram was earlier an engineer in Indore. But, he left his job and became a teacher, so that he could educate the children of the society. For this, he also got his children educated in government schools only. Manisha is the elder daughter of the family. There is a younger brother Vikas Dharve. Along with his sister, he is also preparing for UPSC in Delhi.
Started studying by going to Anganwadi
Manisha Dharve completed her primary education in the village itself. My education started from Anganwadi. Spent 5 years here. He studied from 1st to 8th in the government school of the village. Studied from class 9th to 12th in an excellent school in Khargone. There was a desire to learn, so I took both Maths and Bio subjects in 11th. Got 75% in 10th and 78% in 12th. Took B.Sc Computer Science degree from Holkar College, Indore. Meanwhile, preparations for PSC had started. But, friends recognized his talent and suggested him for UPSC preparation. Then he decided that now he has to become a collector.
Success achieved in the fourth time
Manisha told that she gave the exam for the first time in 2020, but fell short by only a few marks. Returned home and shifted to Jhirniya for preparation. Because there was no light in the village. Tried again from here for the second time in 2021. Still left with one question. Gave the exam for the third time while staying in Indore. I thought it would happen this time, so I came to Delhi again. But, this time too there was disappointment. Did not give up, tried again for the fourth time in 2023. This time the hard work paid off and the dream of becoming a collector came true.
