Suddenly a ‘rare creature’ came out of the water, looks like an orange but no one knows its name, people are surprised!

A fisherman in Australia was completely surprised when he pulled out an unknown creature from the water. Despite having a lot of experience with the marine life of Western Port in southern Victoria, this person could not understand what kind of creature it was. On this, this fisherman posted a picture of this creature on Facebook and asked for help, but people also did not know the right answer. Later the expert told which marine creature it was!

The creature was a white feather-like specimen with an orange hook-like round at the base. Its shape was such that it can only be described as a tube-like creature. People on the internet tried to guess what creature it was, and in this process the number of funny comments increased a lot.

There were many suggestions about it. One suggestion was that it could be a form of sea cucumber. The useless talk about the creature’s hook-like base for a fisherman became too much, and as a result the comment section had to be closed due to the flood of comments.

The question was then raised by Dr Merrick Ekins of the Queensland Museum, who told Yahoo that it was a sea pen, probably from the Virgularia species. The collection manager of sessile marine invertebrates said they are endemic and do not cause harm. According to the Melbourne Museum website, sea pens are actually a colony of animals made up of polyps.

Sea pens are invertebrate marine organisms similar to anemones and corals and are actually a colony of animals made up of polyps. They can live in places swept by currents, within protected bays and coves and in deeper water off open coasts. The sea pen’s stem burrows into the sediment while the fin-like head extends out to gather food and pump water. They can grow up to 46cm, are harmless to pick up but can have sharp edges. This one was probably caught in a fishing rod.
