Despite losing her life, Sunita Devi gave new life to five people. Sunita, who lives in Maheshpur village of Sheikhpura in Bihar, was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital on May 13 in a critical condition after falling from a height. He died during treatment here.
Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Vandana Talwar said that on May 17, 47-year-old Sunita Devi gave new life to five patients by donating her organs. He was shifted to the hospital from Maheshpur village of Shekhpura. Even after treatment in the hospital, the doctors could not bring him out of unconsciousness. After investigation, on May 17, a panel of experts declared him brain dead.
In this tragic time, the family decided to save the lives of others by donating their organs. Sunita Devi decided to donate her organs with the consent of her daughter. After organ donation, the skin obtained from the woman, both corneas and a kidney were transplanted into the patient admitted in Safdarjung Hospital. The second kidney was allotted for transplantation at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Doctors from the Nephrology and Urology department of Safdarjung Hospital said that the condition of the person who received the kidney at the hospital is stable and he is recovering.
