Meaning – Through this couplet, Surdas ji is telling the bitter truth of human being which every person is facing in Kaliyuga. He says, don’t know what kind of wicked mind this man is, who is running after the world’s illusions leaving love and devotion to God. The real happiness that is in devotion to Krishna is not in any element of the universe.
Pisces could not tolerate separation, water did not ask. Look at your speed, the body does not decrease in the night.
Surdas ji says that even if the water does not even ask about the fish, still the fish cannot bear the separation from the water, look at the unique speed of the fish’s love that even if its body goes away, its love for water does not decrease even an iota. .
