This film was directed by Priyadarshan. This is one of the best films of Tabu’s career. Her acting was highly praised for this film. Now in an interview, Tabu has shared an anecdote related to this film. In which the director of the film poured a bottle of coconut oil on her head.
Anil Kapoor was seen in the lead role with Tabu in Virasat. The name of her character in this film was Gehna Thakur. Her look in the film was very simple. Tabu told that the director wanted Tabu’s hair to be oily so that she gets a rural look. The hairstylist initially suggested applying a little gel to bring shine, but Priyadarshan had some other idea in mind.
Oil was poured on the head
Tabu told in the interview, ‘Priyadarshan wanted me to apply oil to my hair and make my look desi. So my hairstylist said take some gel and apply it, so that the hair looks oily. When I went to the set, he said – I told you to apply oil. I said – I will apply a little, there is a good shine. After that he himself went and came back with a bottle of coconut oil. From behind, he poured the entire bottle of oil on my head. He said – this is what I meant by oily hair. But after that it became easy for me. I did not have to do any hairstyle. I used to get ready in five minutes. Long hair, oiling and braiding.’
Let us tell you that apart from Virasat, Tabu has worked with Priyadarshan in films like Kalapaani and Hera Pheri. Talking about Tabu’s upcoming film Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, it was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on July 5 but now the makers have decided to postpone it. The new release date has not been revealed yet.
