Taiwan declares TikTok a national security threat: The troubles of China’s short video making app TikTok are not showing any sign of abating. Recently, America had passed a bill terming this app as a security threat. This matter was not yet over when another country declared this social media app a threat to the country’s security.
This country has been done by none other than Taiwan, which has been continuously claiming its share on behalf of China. According to Central News Agency Taiwan, Taiwan’s Digital Affairs Minister Audrey Tang has called China-owned social media platform TikTok a significant national security threat.
Emphasizing his point, Tang said that the social media TikTok has an association with foreign adversaries which matches the US’s point of view. At present it has become a threat to many countries.
Earlier recently, Taiwan’s Digital Minister had declared TikTok app as a dangerous product for the country. He believed that this app was being controlled by the government there. Many negative consequences have also emerged.
Let us tell you that this step taken by Taiwan seems to follow the decision taken by the United States. The US House of Representatives recently passed a bill targeting TikTok’s parent company ByteDance.
In this bill it was clearly said that the social media app should be sold to an American company. Otherwise he should be prepared to face a nationwide ban.
