- Climate and land selection
Tamarind cultivation does not require a specific land, but moist, deep alluvial and loamy soil gives good yield of tamarind. Apart from this, this plant also grows in sandy, loamy and salt rich soil. Tamarind plant is from tropical climate. It easily tolerates hot winds and heat waves in summer. But frost in winter affects the growth of plants. - Prepare the field like this
First of all, make the soil of the field crumbly. After this, prepare ridges for planting the plants. Plants are planted on these ridges only. So that tamarind plants can grow well. For this, while preparing the field, the amount of rotted cow dung or vermicompost will have to be mixed with the soil during plantation and filled in the pits. Apart from this, the amount of chemical fertilizer is given on the basis of soil test.

To prepare the plants, first of all, irrigated land is selected. In the month of March, plow the field and make beds for planting. Drains also have to be prepared for irrigation of the beds. The beds are made 1X5 meters long and wide. After this the seeds have to be planted from the second week of March to the first week of April. For better germination of seeds, they should be soaked in water for 24 hours. After this, tamarind seeds are sown in lines in the beds prepared in the field at a depth of 6 to 7 cm and at a distance of 15 to 20 cm. After a week, germination of seeds starts. The seed germinates after one month. - Take care of planting trees in this way
To plant prepared plants in the nursery, prepare pits in the field of one cubic feet size. These pits will have to be prepared at a distance of 4X4 meters or 5X5 meters. If you want to plant the plants as a garden, then prepare half cubic meter pits at a distance of 10 to 12 meters. Remove the plants prepared in the nursery along with the pindi from the ground and after planting them in the field, give them a prescribed amount of water. - Irrigation should be done at an interval of 10 to 15 days.
Plants should be irrigated normally. In the summer season, plants should be irrigated keeping in mind the moisture in the field. Special care has to be taken that there is no waterlogging in the field; during the winter season, irrigate the plants at an interval of 10 to 15 days.
