MK Stalin Letter: Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari claims that very good quality roads are being built in the country. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin has raised questions on his claims. Referring to the national highway in Tamil Nadu, Stalin wrote a letter to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari saying that the road was so bad that he had to travel by train instead of by road.
MK Stalin termed Nitin Gadkari’s statement in the letter as unfortunate in which he said that the Tamil Nadu government is not cooperating with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The letter written on Saturday (February 11) also mentioned the request of MP Dayanidhi Maran for improvement of the road from Chennai to Ranipet (National Highway 4).
Why had to travel by train instead of road?
Stalin wrote in the letter, “This road provides vital connectivity to the city of Chennai and its ports to industrial clusters at Kanchipuram, Vellore, Ranipet, Hosur and Krishnagiri. We are trying our best to expedite all major infrastructure projects without discriminating between projects undertaken by the state and central governments.
