Stalin will boycott the Niti Aayog meeting
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday said that the state has been completely ignored in the Union Budget and he condemns it. He said that he will boycott the Niti Aayog meeting to be held in Delhi on July 27 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Stalin termed the budget as extremely disappointing and said that since the central government has completely ignored Tamil Nadu, it would be appropriate to boycott the Niti Aayog meeting.
Stalin said that the central government had announced a ‘metro rail scheme’ for Tamil Nadu, but no funds have been allocated for it (Chennai Metro Rail Phase-2) and the state is still being cheated. He said that similarly, there is no guarantee that Bihar and Andhra Pradesh will not suffer the same fate as Tamil Nadu. Stalin said, ‘Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has forgotten everyone except the states ruled by the parties that support this government. There is no special plan for the state. None of our demands have been met.’
