The taste of this delicious sweet can be gauged from the fact that the sweet shopkeepers sell 1,200 to 1,500 pieces per day. This special sweet of Champaran is also liked in the country’s capital Delhi, Bangalore and even in Dubai. Those who are fond of taste like to eat Chhena Jalebi with cream or with curd.
Making Chhena Jalebi is easy. If you want, you can make and test this sweet at your home too. For this, first of all the milk is heated in a big pan or pot and the chhena is extracted from it. After preparing Chhena, light flour and soda are added to it and mixed. After that it is first fried in hot oil. In this way chhena jalebi is prepared as a sweet.
Been making Chhena Jalebi since 35 years
Sweet shopkeeper Bhola Patel told that he has been associated with this business for the last 35 years. Chhena Jalebi is so delicious that 1,200 to 1,500 pieces are sold daily from his shop, despite being located in a rural area about 10 kilometers away from the district headquarters. He told that the price of one piece of chhena jalebi is 12 rupees. The cost of two pieces of chhena jalebi with cream is Rs.50. Whereas, two pieces of Chhena Jalebi with curd is available for Rs.34.
People like to eat it with cream. So there, someone relishes it with curd.
