Bhagalpur. Usually you must have seen the Aparajita flower and offered it to God. But have you ever thought that people can earn lakhs of rupees from this flower. It is not just a flower but also works as a medicine. The tea leaves that we use to refresh our mood also contain the Aparajita flower. It keeps our mind as well as our health fresh.
Manish Singh, a resident of Bhagalpur, is making blue tea from Aparajita flowers and red tea from Hibiscus flowers. These flowers are used just like tea leaves. Just like you drink green tea, you can make and drink blue tea and red tea in the same way. Manish Singh says that there are many things around us which we consider useless. But they are useful.
This is how blue and red tea is made
Manish says that we went to many national and international seminars. There we saw that there is a lot of demand for blue tea and red tea. At first we did not understand what this blue tea and red tea is. When we started researching on this, we came to know that blue tea is made from the Aparajita flower that grows in our house as well as in the forest. Similarly, red tea is made from Gulhad or Adhaul flower offered to Maa Durga. Then the idea came to mind that it grows like this around us. If we cultivate it and supply it abroad, then we can earn profit.
Price: 8000 rupees per kg
This type of tea also fetches a good price. The price of blue tea in the market is more than ₹8000 per kg. This flower can be easily grown anywhere. There is no cost involved in this. But the yield is abundant. Manish has formed a company named Jardalu and Katarni Agro Farmer and is exporting tea abroad. The demand for red and blue tea is very high in countries like Thailand and England.
Preparing for mass production
According to Manish, two companies from Bangalore have taken its samples. Soon its order will also be received in bulk. Preparations for this have started. Blue tea and red tea will be produced here on a large scale. This will increase the income of the farmers as well as make the people here health conscious.
